Nutrition Coordinator

Job Description

Job Overview Hillsdale County Senior Services Center (HCSSC) AKA Perennial Park, has an immediate opening in the Nutrition department for a dedicated and highly skilled Nutrition Coordinator to help oversee and enhance our nutritional services within the Center and Meals on Wheels (MOW) Monday through Friday deliveries and special events. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in nutrition and food service management. As a Nutrition Coordinator, you will assist the director of the department, develop menus to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Center guidelines and adhere to nutritional guidelines. Must be able to foster a team-oriented environment focused on maintaining department morale.
Duties include:
Coordinate with the Assessment and Nutrition Specialists to ensure healthy meals are delivered safely and efficiently in accordance with established dietary, health and safety standards. Coordinate with and assist the Director in the ordering of and preparation of of food, ensuring nutritional quality, food safety, and adherence to dietary guidelines. Assist in managing department budgets, including food costs and staffing expenses to optimize resource allocation without compromising quality. Ensure compliance with health regulation policies and food service health codes through regular audits and staff training to ensure a positive Health Department inspection. Implement food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and promote a safe dining environment for the community we serve. Assist in managing department teams by supervising staff performance, providing training on dietary standards, and fostering professional development.
Requirements include:
High School diploma or equivalent combined with appropriate certifications and experience. Possess or have the ability to achieve Serve Safe Manager & First Aid/CPR certifications; valid drivers license and current auto insurance. Proven experience with supervising or managing a team in a high-volume food service environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and computer skills are a must. Knowledge of food safety management practices, health regulation policies, and food service health code compliance. Expertise in managing budgets related to food production, staffing, and resource allocation. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
