Broadcast/Creative Media Internship for the 2026/27 season
Position Summary:
The Broadcast/Creative Media Intern supports the Manager of Broadcasting in producing live broadcasts, digital media, and in-arena entertainment for the Lincoln Stars. This hands-on internship provides experience in all aspects of a USHL broadcast operation, including pre-production, live game production, content creation, video editing, and equipment operation. The Broadcast/Creative Media Intern will also contribute to the team's digital media efforts and serve as the color analyst for select road broadcasts, helping deliver a professional and engaging experience for fans, partners, and the organization. Key Responsibilities Weekly Broadcast & Content Preparation Assist in planning, producing, and editing weekly video and audio content, including All-Access with the Lincoln Stars , 200 Feet , and other team features. Prepare broadcast materials including statistics, spotting boards, player notes, storylines, pronunciation guides, and game notes. Create and update broadcast graphics, lower thirds, sponsor elements, and video board content. Edit short-form and long-form video content for social platforms, website, and broadcasts. Coordinate with Communications and Marketing departments to gather content and production needs. Research opponent storylines, milestones, and league news to support broadcasts. Game Day Operations Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of broadcast equipment for radio, FloHockey, and in-arena productions. Host intermission reports during Stars home games on FloSports and Mixlr. Provide production support for pregame, intermission, and postgame programming. Assist with player and coach interviews, feature production, and postgame content. Troubleshoot technical issues under the supervision of the Manager of Broadcasting. Archive broadcast recordings and game footage following each event. Road Broadcast Responsibilities Serve as the color analyst for select Lincoln Stars road broadcasts. Collaborate with the play-by-play broadcaster during live broadcasts. Participate in pregame and postgame broadcast coverage as assigned.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in broadcasting, media, or live event production (internship or entry-level experience acceptable). Technical knowledge of cameras, video boards, audio equipment, and streaming platforms. Proficiency with editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar). Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Availability to work evenings and weekends for home games and events.
