WOIO-19 and WUAB-TV are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as WTCL/WOHZ, the only Telemundo stations in the Cleveland DMA. We produce 69.5 hours of live, local news, weather and sports every week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms on WOIO and 5+ hours of news on
WTCL/WOHZ.
Job Summary/Description:
Are you a newsroom leader who thrives on the adrenaline of a breaking story and the challenge of winning the morning? Do you know how to turn a weather forecast into a "First Alert" plan that keeps the community safe—and keeps them coming back for more? We're looking for a Morning Executive Producer in Cleveland who doesn't just "run a show," but leads a multi-platform mission to own the morning, from the big screen in the living room to the small screen in the palm of our viewers' hands. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead the charge: Direct a team of producers and on-air talent with energy and clarity, ensuring every newscast is fast-paced, informative, and unmistakably Cleveland. Own the "First Alert" brand: Execute aggressive, life-saving coverage of severe weather and breaking news with urgency—and the calm authority that builds viewer trust.
Bridge the platforms:
Collaborate daily with our digital and TV teams to craft compelling content that lives everywhere our audience is, from streaming apps to social feeds.
Coach for greatness:
Mentor young producers and seasoned talent alike, pushing for better writing, sharper visuals, and more creative storytelling in every block.
Help people plan their day:
Oversee the creation of engaging content that provides real value, ensuring our viewers leave the house (or start their scroll) feeling prepared and informed.
Drive the morning narrative:
Set the tone for the day's coverage, ensuring our morning energy translates into digital wins and broadcast dominance. Please note - the primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the information listed above
Qualifications/Requirements:
3+ years of producing experience: You've cut your teeth in a medium to large TV market and know how to handle the pressure of a high-stakes newsroom. A "First Alert" mindset: You have a natural instinct for breaking news and severe weather, knowing exactly when to pivot and how to lead a team through the chaos.
Digital-first DNA:
You understand that "the news" isn't just a time slot; you're comfortable strategizing for OTT, social media, and web alongside the broadcast.
Exceptional leadership skills:
You're a partner to your team, someone who can give tough feedback with empathy and celebrate the wins with genuine enthusiasm.
Strong communication:
You can articulate a vision clearly to a room full of creatives and keep everyone moving toward the same goal.
