Job Description

Peoples Bank Theatre | Marietta, Ohio Peoples Bank Theatre, a historic gem and premiere performing arts venue in the heart of the Mid-Ohio Valley, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Theatre Operations Manager to join our team. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk management job. On any given day, you might be coordinating a vendor, solving a building issue, preparing for an artist arrival, working with staff and volunteers, or making a quick decision because the doors open in 20 minutes. It's fast. It's fun. It can be demanding. And no two days are quite the same.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
The Theatre:
Oversee daily operations, building maintenance, vendors, supplies, and facility readiness.
Show Days:
Act as manager and main contact for all events. Coordinate the moving pieces of live performances, from artist and crew needs to staffing, hospitality, and last-minute surprises.
People:
Work with staff, volunteers, artists, touring crews, vendors, and patrons to create exceptional experiences. Serve as a welcoming representative for the theatre at performances and events.
The Details:
Manage schedules, purchasing, invoicing, record keeping, and operational paperwork. Keep things organized and moving forward.
The Unexpected:
Assess situations, make decisions, solve problems, and keep moving when plans change.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience in operations, event management, hospitality, facilities, or another fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, communication, and people-management skills. Sound judgment and the confidence to make decisions independently. Comfort with contracts, invoicing, purchasing, record keeping, schedules, and basic computer applications. A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed. The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours around performances and events. Theatre experience is a plus, but initiative, good judgment, and a strong work ethic matter most.
THE REALITY OF THE JOB
Theatre doesn't operate on a traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Show days can be long, fast-paced, physically active, and unpredictable. There will be late nights, but also flexibility when the calendar allows. It's challenging work, but you'll be part of creating unforgettable experiences in one of our community's most treasured historic spaces. Salary commensurate with experience, flexible scheduling, and paid time off.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit a letter of interest (required) along with your résumé to Wendy Brewer, Executive Director, at wendy@peoplesbanktheatre.com by September 30, 2026 . Peoples Bank Theatre is an equal opportunity employer located in historic downtown Marietta, Ohio. Our beautifully restored 944-seat venue hosts a diverse lineup of concerts, theatrical performances, film screenings, and community events.
