Monday - Friday, Day Shift This is a temp-to-hire position. Full Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to lead a manufacturing planning team and ensure production schedules, materials, capacity, and customer demands are properly aligned. This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role. We are looking for someone who truly understands how a manufacturing plant operates and has proven experience in production planning—not simply general management or supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Planning team, including Scheduling, Expediting, Order Entry, and Document Control Develop production plans based on demand, capacity, inventory, and material availability Identify potential labor, material, and capacity shortages Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Production, and Project Management Monitor WIP and production schedules to keep projects on track Improve planning processes, tools, and team performance Coach, train, and hold team members accountable
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience Proven production planning and scheduling experience 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably leading planning, scheduling, or expediting teams Strong understanding of how a manufacturing plant flows from materials through production and delivery Proven experience using an ERP/MRP system for production planning and scheduling Ability to identify capacity, material, and scheduling issues before they impact production Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Experience improving manufacturing planning processes and workflows
