About the Role The Associate Producer, Digital executes digital strategy through the creation, curation, and distribution of digital content. This includes, but is not limited to video and audio content, text, images and multimedia as outlined in plans developed by the digital department. The position partners closely with the content production and digital news teams.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring and updating of WHYY.org homepage and other "front doors." Monitoring and updating of WHYY.org media (audio/video) files and metadata. Updating of various program and podcast related episode content. Updating of ancillary WHYY digital properties - like watch.whyy.org. Management of select third-party platforms, like YouTube. Content curation / updating on WHYY apps.
Education:
College degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
1 year+
Technical Skills:
Ability to write, edit and proof-read quality written content. Skilled with computers, takes advantage of new technology, and learns new tools.
PREFERRED CRITERIA
Experience :
At least one to two years' experience working with a content management system.
Software/Technical Skills :
Experienced with Wordpress. Basic familiarity with
HTML / CSS.
Basic familiarity with media editing tools to manipulate images and other media files. Experience with SEO techniques including the ability to lightly edit content to align with SEO best practices. Knowledge of accessibility best practices. Experience with Google Analytics and other analytics tools. A resume and cover letter are required to be considered for the role.
