Job Description

SGMT's Production Manager

•Part-Time Position Overview The Production Manager serves as the operational leader for SGMT productions, overseeing the coordination and logistics of all production elements from pre-production through strike. This role acts as the primary bridge between the artistic vision and the practical realities of mounting a live theatrical production, ensuring that each show runs smoothly, safely, on schedule, and within approved resources. In conjunction with the Artistic Director, the PM is in charge of scheduling and adjusting for production team conflicts, orientating all RSM/PSM/ASM's, and ensuring they have the support and materials needed. In addition to show-specific responsibilities, the Production Manager plays a key role in developing and maintaining SGMT's production systems, documentation, and standards in collaboration with the Artistic Director and organizational leadership. What You'll Do Production Planning & Coordination Oversee the full production lifecycle from pre-production planning through strike Establish and maintain production timelines, calendars, and key milestones Coordinate communication between directors, designers, stage management, and SGMT leadership Plan, organize, and oversee the audition process, including scheduling, logistics, materials, and coordination with artistic leadership Casting, Paperwork & Contracts Distribute, collect, and maintain all required cast paperwork, including participation forms, policies, and acknowledgements Prepare, distribute, and track production team contracts and related documentation Maintain accurate and organized production records in accordance with SGMT policies Team & Department Oversight Support production staff including (but not limited to) stage managers, directors, designers, and crew Facilitate production meetings, as needed, and ensure follow-through on action items Serve as a point of contact for resolving scheduling, staffing, and production-related challenges Promote a safe, organized, and respectful working environment for all cast and crew Offer support with cast lunches when needed Address concerns or conflicts related to production operations as they arise Operations & Performer Support Oversee the proper use of production documentation such as contact lists, schedules, reports, and run-of-show materials by the stage manager Monitor the stage managers and seek ways to make them more effective in their duties Assist in identifying production needs and potential challenges early in the process Coordinate performer support logistics, including the planning and procurement of meals for cast members during extended performance days (such as two-show performance schedules) Support best practices related to backstage safety, youth participation, and professionalism Be available to swing/cover for ASM, PSM, or RSM as needed Receive an extra $60 per rehearsal or performance not covered by an exchange Salary includes (4) covers as substitute for either RSM or PSM Compensation & Administrative Tracking Track performance-related compensation for performers and ensure accurate reporting in coordination with SGMT leadership Support administrative processes related to production budgets, reimbursements, and payments as assigned Systems Development & Training Collaborate with the Artistic Director to create, update, and maintain the SGMT Production Handbook and related operational documentation Develop, refine, and standardize production processes to improve consistency and efficiency across all SGMT productions Train, mentor, and support Stage Managers in SGMT procedures, expectations, and best practices Who We're Looking For You might be a great fit if you're: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Experience in theatrical production, stage management, or technical theater preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Calm, solution-oriented approach to problem solving Availability for evenings, weekends, and extended hours during tech and performance weeks Flexible part-time position

Approximately 20-30 hours per week

$6,000

•12,000 annually

•Compensation and scheduled hours will be determined based on the final position structure, experience, and qualifications.
