The #1 station in the Charlottesville market is looking for a technically savvy individual to work in our brand-new, state-of-the-art Multimedia Control Center. The person we hire will direct newscasts in addition to performing duties associated with broadcasting 29News' television. WVIR-TV is the dominant television station in the desirable Charlottesville market. The station is located on the historic Downtown Mall in the heart of Charlottesville's vibrant cultural district. We are seeking a tech-savvy individual to work in our cutting-edge Multimedia Control Center. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with our newscast producers and anchors to create fast-paced live news broadcasts. The role involves taking responsibility for all technical aspects of the newscast, including video, audio, graphics, transitions, and camera movements, and additional duties assigned as needed.Qualifications/Requirements:
- Have some experience with live content, experience working with Ross switchers, and Overdrive is a huge plus.
- Strong communication skills are essential, as collaboration with other TMPs, producers, editors, and various stations requires constant interaction.
- Creativity and passion are some of the most important qualities that every TMP at WVIR should possess.
Education:
- A degree related to Film, Television, Digital Media, or Communication Studies is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in live production is preferred.
