Job Description

General Description The Project Manager will help to create and promote the Petersburg's brand and mission to the public, citizens, businesses, employees, and other stakeholders through the creation and distribution of newsletters, social media, brochures, news releases, and/or other electronic communication channels.
Essential Functions:
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of Petersburg Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on milestones and activities such as goals and projects; new businesses or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements. Arranges for photography and/or news coverage for events and other activities Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications, Tourism, Marketing & Government Relations and/or
City Manager Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Knowledge of City of Petersburg and government operations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software Photography skills required Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills Skill in providing excellent customer service Ability to evaluate problems, determine causes of events, formulate, and recommend solutions, and interact with a diverse group of people Detail-oriented and able to multi-task Highly self-motivated, and a team player
