Sr. Production Manager Manager, Manufacturing Operations Leader -Greater Richmond area, VA- 130 to 140K/yr +30% Annual Bonus (up to 182K/yr) The Senior Production Manager directs and oversees manufacturing operations across multiple key value streams (or all value streams within a mid-sized facility). Key focus areas include driving production throughput, maintaining quality standards, enforcing safety protocols, optimizing material usage, and meeting plant performance metrics. Working closely with plant executives, operations leaders, and production managers, this role ensures operational excellence, timely delivery, and continuous process improvement. Additional responsibilities include mentoring and developing a team of managers, supervisors, and front-line staff, as well as contributing to cross-functional manufacturing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct production scheduling and output for major value streams or plant-wide operations in a mid-sized plant, ensuring seamless workflow across all shifts and departments. Collaborate with Materials, Logistics, and Scheduling teams to ensure balanced production flow and steady material delivery. Develop precise production forecasts and advise plant leadership on staffing, labor hours, and resource allocation to consistently meet operational targets and delivery schedules. Uphold manufacturing quality standards and support Brand Promise goals; partner with Quality teams to address escalated issues, audits, and customer liaison activities. Promote cross-training and alignment across value streams and functional groups to achieve shared operational targets. Champion safety best practices, lead safety audits and accident investigations, resolve workplace hazards, and verify that all team members complete required training. Analyze operational metrics to evaluate plant performance, guide strategic decisions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate equipment utilization with Maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure routine preventive maintenance; assist with capital planning justifications as needed. Manage operating budgets across designated plant accounts and identify cost-reduction opportunities. Address and resolve complex issues involving staff, vendors, and cross-functional teams, documenting outcomes appropriately. Foster an engaging positive work environment through regular feedback, professional coaching, and retention strategies to lower employee turnover. Build a high-performing operations team through talent selection, onboarding, and ongoing development to maintain a strong internal leadership pipeline. Lead plant-level continuous improvement efforts and participate in company-wide manufacturing initiatives and pilot projects. Provide support and share operational best practices for new facility expansions and rollouts.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred. 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodology implementation experience preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities. Effective communication skills across all organizational levels. Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration and conflict resolution abilities. Strong customer service and quality orientation. Exceptional reliability with solid organizational and planning skills. Track record of driving organizational improvements and influencing key stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, adapt to changes, and deliver results on deadline. Willingness and ability to travel to other company facilities as required.

Up to $145,000.00 per year
