As a Freelance Desktop Publisher at CLD, you will format and produce high-quality print and online training materials for leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. You will work as part of CLD's deadline-driven publishing team, collaborating with medical writers, project managers, medical illustrators, animators, programmers, editors, and other specialists to deliver accurate, consistent, and publication-ready materials. About Custom Learning Designs Custom Learning Designs (CLD) creates innovative, customized training materials for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries. Our talented team of in-house professionals develops comprehensive training solutions across the learning spectrum, working collaboratively to meet each client's unique needs and deliver high-quality materials for leading clients. Job Requirements Format documents using computer software, including text, tables, artwork, and other visual graphic elements, to produce high-quality, style-consistent, publication-ready materials Follow CLD and client requirements throughout the publishing and production process Assist the publishing team through all phases of content development and production Prioritize and manage workload to support timely writer review and on-time project delivery Quickly learn CLD's processes and contribute ideas and approaches as appropriate Maintain a consistent look and feel across multiple deliverables, including modules within a learning system Collaborate with project teams on fast-moving projects while adhering to daily deadlines and schedules Create high-quality products using a variety of applications in a PC-based environment Submit work to editors for proofreading and accurately incorporate feedback and corrections Apply strong attention to detail to ensure consistency across multi-component learning solutions Collaborate directly with medical writers, project managers, medical illustrators, animators, and programmers to ensure timely delivery of content Balance strong content presentation with project timelines and budgetary constraints Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Proven proficiency with major word processing, layout, and presentation applications, including Microsoft Word, InDesign, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and Articulate Strong experience working in a PC-based environment Strong knowledge of styles and templates, including the ability to customize materials to meet client needs Knowledge of color, prepress, fonts, and other elements that contribute to the successful delivery of print-ready materials to vendors Excellent grammar and spelling skills, with familiarity with proofreading marks Ability to manage multiple projects, shift priorities, and problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong communication and time management skills As a Freelance Desktop Publisher at CLD, you will have the opportunity to contribute to customized learning solutions for leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies while working alongside talented professionals across multiple disciplines.
