On-Call Print Associate

Us + You We are a small online print-on-demand company that is growing quickly! Our primary product is producing coil and wire-bound books for our content creator partners and shipping them directly to their customers. The day to day in this position would primarily be focused on fulfilling orders in our queue - including checking jobs for issues, sending them to print, loading the correct paper in the printer, monitoring for quality issues, manually coiling the books, laminating and cutting, packing and printing shipping labels. We would handle material ordering but would appreciate a heads up if/when we're low on material. A few things this job is not: We do not take creative control of material (occasionally we add blank pages to help with page spreads or blocking with the author's permission). Steady working hours - as a very small business work ebbs and flows, sometimes with large pendulum shifts. We don't have steady shifts (like 10-1, etc) but instead are looking for someone who is looking for a more casual style of working with flexible hours on an on-call basis to assist with order volume as it ebbs and flows.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is interested in some repetitive but simple tasks with an eye for detail that can stop something when it starts going wrong (like if a print quality issues starts developing). Someone who is looking for a very flexible schedule (like a few hours after you drop a kid off at school, etc.) that can vary week to week depending on your lifestyle and our volume. Duties Print files from our order management system. Load a production digital printer with materials (paper, toner, etc). Periodically monitor for quality issues during production and stop if issues arise. Laminate and cut paper as needed. Manually bind books as ordered (plastic spiral, wire, saddle stitch) Pack boxes and print shipping labels. Requirements Willingness to learn on the job. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality control. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Ability to lift 50lbs.
