Apply Apply Description Overall Responsibilities:
To find and gather information•words, images and video•for the newspaper's digital and social platforms. To write news and feature stories and scripts. Take photographs/video, as assigned and through initiative; process digital photo and video files.
Specific Responsibilities:
Produces informative news and features stories using multimedia formats. Produces multimedia updates for the website and social media. Meets technical standards for composition, lighting and visual impact. Meets deadlines. Brainstorms and collaborates on story ideas with other media staff. Monitors ongoing news and issues. Develops sources essential to development of the news and features. Adheres to policy and journalistic ethics. Recommends story, photo and video ideas. Actively participates in the Great Game of Business. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Behavior :
Commitment to quality and service. A team player. A positive representative of the media company and colleagues as a member of the journalism profession. Dresses appropriately for the job. Maintains a valid driver's license.
Skills :
Reporting, interviewing, writing, photography, video recording, typing, communicating, meeting, deadlines, planning and organizing. Experience in video/photo essay technique. Effective use of photo and video equipment and editing under a wide range of conditions, ability to be productive and accurate on deadline.
Knowledge :
High School diploma plus enrollment in an accredited college or university. Newspaper or related media/communications experience. Share job details to
