WPTA, 21Alive, Fort Wayne's News Leader, is looking for an exceptional Anchor/Reporter for Monday-Friday early evening newscasts to join our team. The successful candidate will anchor newscasts on a regular basis. The Anchor/Reporter researches, writes, reports, and edits news material for television newscasts and all news platforms. This includes writing and posting daily on all digital platforms, including social media. This position coordinates with a team of multimedia producers to deliver compelling and promotable content. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Serves as anchor for Monday-Friday evening newscasts.
- Presents content from the news set and live in the field at the scene of breaking news and special events.
- Writes and copy edits news content for maximum viewer appeal, comprehension, impact, and clarity.
- Delivers content energetically and compellingly.
- Displays leadership skills in support of news management goals and audience management strategies.
- Regularly reports in the field in addition to anchoring daily newscasts
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
- At least five years of experience in broadcast journalism.
- Experience as a newscast anchor and lead story reporter preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
