Experienced Designer (Fusion/Rhino)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced 3D designer and modeler who can create build drawings and has shop/fabrication experience to our creative team. You will be working closely with our team of in-house developers, designers, animators, and builders to create polished and engaging 3D models. Strong ability to evaluate and quality-control work. Hands-on fabrication experience is a must. Work will be project to project based but could lead to full-time work for the right candidate in the near future.
REQUIREMENTS
(Please read carefully and do not apply if you do not meet ALL of the below requirements) Demonstrated experience in 3D modeling softwares including Fusion360 and Rhino, experience in SketchUp is a plus Must be able to lead creative direction from concept to finish. Ability to create finished files for 3D printing, including FDM and SLA processes Experience in physical construction and/or fabrication. Have a solid understanding of the relationship between the world of 3D modeling and physical construction/fabrication. Demonstrated experience designing for multiple materials and fabrication techniques and processes including common and specialty materials. Mechanically minded with demonstrated understanding of complex assemblies including moving components, fasteners, subassemblies, and integrated components. Experience and knowledge integrating electronic components such as lighting, circuitry, motors, and ventilation is a plus.
Excellent communication skills:
verbal and written documentation, build drawings, and presentations. Ability to interface with clients respectfully and professionally. Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive information. Highly organized and high attention to detail. Must be able to work in house at our South Bay studio. Must provide your portfolio or link to your portfolio, along with a list of all modeling programs you are comfortable working in.
