Job Description

Technical Writer Opportunity Snapshot Join Operative IQ, a leader in SaaS for First Responders, as a Technical Writer focused on creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, tutorials, and training materials for our flagship product, Operative IQ. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative Product Team dedicated to supporting the lifesaving work of Fire and EMS professionals. You will work alongside another technical writer to deliver clear and meaningful content that empowers customers, while coordinating closely with other internal teams to improve user understanding and adoption across the platform.

Core Responsibilities:
Create and maintain comprehensive Knowledge Center content, including user guides, FAQs, and how-to articles. Research the progress of upcoming features and prepare high level monthly release notes for end users. Conduct hands on system testing to ensure full understanding of functionality before documenting. Develop clear and concise technical documentation for diverse audiences with varying technical experience. Create visual documentation including charts, diagrams, and multimedia elements. Host quarterly webinars regarding module launches, new feature implementations, and system updates. Produce video tutorials and walkthroughs to simplify complex workflows and features. Collaborate as a member of the Product Team to understand new features and ensure timely and accurate documentation. Work with internal Customer Service, Training, and Account Management teams to identify user needs and create resources that improve adoption and usability. Support the evolution of the AI powered Knowledge Center Agent by creating clear and well-organized content that improves answer quality. Contribute ideas for improving documentation structure, clarity, and workflow. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in technical writing and user education.

They take pride in producing content that supports customers and enhances the usefulness of the Knowledge Center.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably for SaaS or technology products, or a 4-year degree in a related field. Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and a focus on clarity and accessibility. Ability to create instructional videos and multimedia content. Comfortable leveraging AI business tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Rovo) and eager to adopt new tools quickly. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and knowledge base platforms. Demonstrated technical acumen and ability to understand and explain software systems and workflows. Strong interpersonal skills with experience working across cross-functional teams.
