Long Term (W2 Only) Position Overview The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and producing in various output formats, technical and functional documentation for policies, procedures, bulletins and application manuals. The technical writer will conduct research and interviews to gather information for documentation and act as a liaison for Information Technology to discuss flow of information, understandability and application of policies to Standard Operating Guidelines. The Technical Writer will make recommendations for change by using discretion and independent judgment to eliminate company risk and legal exposure. He/She will also develop, write and interpret instructions and policy/procedure for the business groups being supported. They maintain and utilize the established writing style for logical and clear documentation.Responsibilities:
Develop and write instructions, policy, and procedure documents in a timely manner (including manuals and bulletins). Develop user manuals, how-to-guides, standard operating procedures (SOP), and API documentation. Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team. Work with the management team to update/maintain current manuals in the established writing style and templates. Gather information by conducting interviews with management and subject matter experts Compose, maintain, and clarify the Policies and Procedures of the SCA IT Understand and document process flows using Microsoft Visio Write a policy manual, by interviewing staff members and translating it into a clear and understandable policy. Develop change procedures to maintain policies Keep history files of work performed Qualifications and Skills (Required) Bachelor's degree in IT, English or Communications. 3 plus year's experience documenting software for users, developers and policy makers. Excellent MS tools skills- Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio.
Pay:
$45.00- $50.
