Credentialing Clerk Position Summary The Credentialing Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Medical Staff Credentialing and Payer Enrollment department. This position assists with the processing, organization, tracking, and maintenance of provider credentialing and recredentialing files to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant completion of credentialing activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Medical Staff Credentialing team, Credentialing Manager, and Medical Staff Services.
- Assist with the initial credentialing and recredentialing process for physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare practitioners.
- Prepare, organize, scan, upload, and maintain provider credentialing files and supporting documentation.
- Review credentialing applications for completeness and identify missing or expired documentation.
- Track outstanding items and follow up with providers, office staff, hospitals, licensing agencies, and other entities as needed.
- Assist with primary source verification of provider credentials, including licenses, DEA registrations, board certifications, education, training, work history, and other required credentials.
- Enter and maintain accurate provider information in credentialing databases and electronic systems.
- Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, registrations, malpractice insurance, and other required documents.
- Assist with maintaining provider spreadsheets, tracking reports, credentialing logs, and departmental databases.
- Prepare correspondence, verification requests, and other credentialing-related communications.
- Assist with payer enrollment and revalidation activities as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of provider and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assist with preparation of credentialing materials for Medical Staff Committees, Credentials Committees, and other internal reviews.
- Retrieve and organize documentation for audits, accreditation reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and credentialing standards.
- Provide professional and timely customer service to providers, practice managers, hospital departments, and external organizations.
- Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
