This hands-on, client-facing role requires a technically capable, creative, and dependable individual contributor who can independently take assignments from concept through completion. The position combines technical writing, graphic design, digital and print publication, web content, photography, document production, and direct customer support. The successful candidate must be comfortable shifting between technical and creative assignments as client priorities change while consistently delivering accurate, professional work. On-site attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, and strong customer service are essential requirements of this position. Key Responsibilities Write, edit, proofread, format, and standardize technical and business documents for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and professional presentation. Create professional graphics, illustrations, layouts, photographs, charts, presentations, reports, newsletters, brochures, posters, manuals, forms, and other digital or print products. Support the design, composition, layout, graphics, and production of SWPA's Annual Financial Report. Develop and maintain content for SWPA intranet and internet pages using approved content management and change-control processes. Interview technical subject-matter experts and stakeholders and translate complex information into clear, accurate, customer-ready content. Work directly with SWPA customers to understand requirements, recommend appropriate design or communication solutions, and deliver finished products. Support photography, multimedia, audio/visual activities, meetings, conferences, training events, and special projects. Maintain organized publication data, mailing lists, and supporting information; track assigned work through the client's automated helpdesk/work-request system. Independently manage multiple assignments, changing priorities, and deadlines while maintaining quality and responsive customer communication. Required Technical Competencies Candidates must demonstrate practical proficiency in both technical writing and graphic design. This is a hands-on production role.
Adobe Creative Suite:
InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Premiere or comparable multimedia/video-editing tools.
Microsoft and business applications:
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Access or comparable data-management applications.
Core production skills:
technical writing/editing, graphic design and page layout, digital/print publication, presentation design, web content, photography/image editing, document quality control, and multimedia/audio-visual support. Applicants should be prepared to provide a portfolio or examples demonstrating professional writing, graphic design, publication, presentation, or comparable work. What Success Looks Like Own assignments from customer request through professional completion without continuous oversight. Report to the assigned on-site work location consistently, punctually, and prepared to work; maintain dependable attendance during established working hours. Exercise sound professional judgment, ask the right questions, take initiative, and reliably close the loop with customers. Balance multiple priorities and move comfortably between writing, design, web, photography, multimedia, and customer-support assignments. Communicate effectively and professionally with Federal employees, technical SMEs, leadership, and other stakeholders; accept feedback and incorporate changes quickly. Required Qualifications Professional experience in technical writing, graphic design, communications, publications, or a closely related field. Demonstrated ability to produce both professional written content and high-quality visual/graphic products. Strong working proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, editing, organization, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt to changing client priorities, and manage assignments through completion. Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, customer-focused approach. Ability to work on-site and maintain consistent, dependable, and punctual attendance. Ability to successfully complete and maintain all U.S. Government background investigation, security screening, and suitability requirements necessary to work in a Federal environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting the Federal Government, utility/energy industry, engineering, technical, or another regulated environment. Experience developing annual reports, newsletters, executive presentations, technical publications, web content, or SharePoint content. Experience producing both digital and print-ready publications; photography, multimedia, video editing, or audio/visual experience. Experience working directly with technical SMEs, senior leaders, or executive-level customers. Pay:
