We are an independent modern metal / dark alternative artist based in Los Angeles, releasing new music monthly through early 2027. We're looking for a freelance video editor to become an ongoing creative collaborator across music videos, visualizers, and short-form social content. We already have professionally shot music video footage, finished masters, photography, lyric assets, and existing visual material. Depending on the project, work may include editing full music videos, creating lyric or atmospheric visualizers, and repurposing finished assets into Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts. Potential projects include music video editing, performance and narrative edits, lyric visualizers, cinematic visualizers, music-video cutdowns, hook-focused Reels, lyric-driven social edits, BTS content, vertical 9:16 versions, and alternate edits for creative testing. We're looking for someone with strong musical instincts, excellent pacing, and a refined visual style. You should understand how to cut around vocals, drums, breakdowns, transitions, and song structure rather than simply cutting footage to a beat. Experience with darker, cinematic, alternative, rock, metal, fashion, or artist-focused content is strongly preferred. Visual references include Bad Omens, Northlane, Deftones, and Nine Inch Nails. The goal is polished, cinematic work that feels modern and artist-driven rather than generic social-media content. Please include 3-5 relevant examples of work you personally edited, preferably music videos, visualizers, performance pieces, or artist content. Please also briefly explain your role on each project. We expect this to be recurring freelance work and plan to begin with a paid test project before selecting an ongoing editor. Compensation will depend on experience and project scope, and some projects may be quoted at a flat project rate rather than hourly.
