Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Preditor / Shooter-Editor for a 4-6 week freelance engagement creating short-form video content for a Bay Area technology company. This is a one-person production role for someone who can independently direct and film senior on-camera talent, bring their own professional camera/audio/lighting package, and edit the footage into polished, engaging short-form content. The ideal person combines strong production fundamentals with a sharp understanding of what makes short-form content work: compelling hooks, natural performance, strong pacing, visual variety and platform-native storytelling. We're looking for someone with the confidence and editorial judgment to collaborate directly with leadership and help shape the content, not simply execute a predetermined shot list.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct batch filming sessions with company leadership, primarily on Saturdays in Palo Alto
  • Direct and work comfortably with executive/on-camera talent
  • Operate independently with your own professional camera, audio and lighting equipment
  • Help identify strong hooks, moments and approaches during filming
  • Edit footage into polished short-form content for YouTube and social platforms
  • Deliver edits on a quick turnaround and collaborate on revisions/cutdowns as needed Ideal experience:
  • Strong, current portfolio of short-form and social-first video work
  • Experienced shooter and editor who regularly works as a one-person production unit
  • Strong editorial instincts and understanding of pacing, hooks and audience engagement
  • Experience working directly with founders, executives, thought leaders or other on-camera personalities
  • Comfortable directing talent and offering creative input
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work locally in
Palo Alto Schedule:
Primarily Saturday shoots over approximately 4-6 weeks. Exact shoot dates and post-production schedule to be determined. Please include a link to your current portfolio/reel, particularly examples of short-form content that you personally shot and edited.
