Job Description

Overview Sexton Media Group seeking a detail-oriented and creative Media Composing Assistant to support our print (Neosho Daily News, Aurora Advertiser, and River Hills Traveler) and website media projects. This role involves assisting with the development, editing, and layout of visual and textual content across print and online media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for media production, strong organizational skills, and an eye for design. This paid position offers valuable experience in media composition and content management within a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities Assist in designing and editing print materials such as newspaper pages, brochures, flyers, and newsletters. Support the updating and maintenance of website content, including images, articles, and multimedia elements. Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all media platforms. Help prepare visual assets for publication, including image cropping, formatting, and layout adjustments Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new media projects and campaigns. Manage deadlines effectively to ensure timely delivery of media content. Perform quality checks on all materials before publication or printing to ensure accuracy and professionalism. Qualifications Basic knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, or Canva is preferred. Strong written communication skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Creative mindset with an eye for aesthetics and visual storytelling. Prior experience or coursework related to media production or communications is advantageous. Must be organized, reliable, and eager to learn new skills. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in media production, graphic design, or digital content management to gain hands-on experience while contributing to impactful projects.
