Overview We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Short-Form Video Editor to join our content team. Your primary responsibility will be turning provided raw footage into engaging, polished short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels . We're looking for someone who understands what makes short-form content perform — strong hooks, fast pacing, clean cuts, engaging captions, music, sound effects, visual storytelling, and platform-native editing. You will not be responsible for filming or sourcing footage . All footage and creative direction will be provided. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a remote and flexible schedule for the right person. We're looking for someone reliable, creative, responsive to feedback, and interested in an ongoing working relationship. Responsibilities Edit provided raw footage into engaging short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels Create strong openings and hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds Use pacing, jump cuts, zooms, B-roll, transitions, and other editing techniques to maintain viewer attention Add clean, engaging on-screen captions and typography Incorporate music, sound effects, graphics, and other visual elements when appropriate Perform basic color correction and audio enhancement to create polished final videos Follow our brand style, creative direction, and reference videos Create multiple variations of videos when needed for testing Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently Organize project files and maintain a consistent editing workflow Deliver finished videos optimized for vertical short-form platforms What We're Looking For Proven experience editing TikTok and Instagram Reels A strong portfolio of short-form content Excellent understanding of short-form storytelling, pacing, hooks, and viewer retention Ability to make content feel native to TikTok and Instagram rather than overly produced or corporate Strong understanding of captions, typography, sound design, transitions, and visual effects Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar professional editing software Adobe After Effects experience is a plus Ability to follow creative briefs and reference videos closely Strong attention to detail Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions Position Details 1099 independent contractor position Hybrid/Remote Flexible schedule Ongoing work available Footage and creative direction provided Approximately 20 hours per month To Apply Please include: A brief introduction about yourself and your editing experience Examples of short-form videos you have personally edited
