About Impact Church Impact Church is a vibrant, community-focused congregation committed to spreading faith, hope, and love through dynamic worship services, impactful community outreach, and engaging educational programs. We inspire and uplift our community by sharing compelling stories and messages through high-quality visual content in both video and photography. Position Overview We are seeking a talented, versatile Visual Media Specialist to join our media team. This role owns the full visual media pipeline, shooting and editing both video and photography, for church services, events, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable behind a video camera and a photo camera, and equally comfortable in Premiere Pro and Lightroom. This role also carries live in-room responsibility: being present and camera-ready during services so unplanned, unscripted moments are never missed. Candidates who can also train and mentor others in photo editing will be given strong preference. Key Responsibilities Video Production Operate video cameras and recording equipment to capture high-quality footage for services, events, and special projects. Handle on-site and studio filming, ensuring lighting, sound, and visuals are optimally configured. Photography Shoot high-quality still photography at services, events, portraits, and promotional shoots. Build and maintain a well-organized photo archive that reflects the church's visual brand.
Post-Production:
Video Edit video content into polished final cuts aligned with the church's mission and vision. Manage post-production workflows including editing, color grading, sound design, and rendering.
Post-Production:
Photography Cull, retouch, and color-correct photo galleries for timely turnaround and delivery. Maintain consistent visual style and color treatment across all published photography. Live Service & Event Coverage Be in the room and camera-ready for the full duration of live services, not staged in a booth or waiting to be cued. Recognize and move on unscripted moments as they build (altar calls, prayer, spotlighted individuals) without waiting for direction. Stay attentive to the room itself, not just a preview screen, to anticipate moments before they happen. Creative Direction & Collaboration Collaborate with church leadership and the media team to develop creative concepts for video and photo projects. Translate pastoral vision and scriptural messages into compelling visual narratives. Equipment Management Maintain and manage video and photo production equipment, ensuring gear is functional, organized, and up to date. Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases to enhance production quality. Project & File Management Ingest and organize all footage and photos using the agreed file naming and folder conventions. Deliver files to the shared drive by stated deadlines and confirm delivery proactively. Communicate early on any technical, timeline, or equipment issues; no surprises. Training & Development (Bonus) Train and mentor volunteers or staff in photo editing techniques and best practices. Help build repeatable editing workflows and style guides the wider team can follow. Qualifications Required Proven experience shooting and editing both video and photography, with a portfolio demonstrating range in both mediums. Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop). Strong technical command of camera operation, lighting, composition, and exposure across video and stills. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and hit deadlines. Strong, proactive communication skills, comfortable flagging issues early and keeping stakeholders informed. Availability for flexible hours, including live services, evenings, and weekend events. Committed to the mission and values of Impact Church, with a passion for using visual media to enhance spiritual messages. Preferred Ability and willingness to train others in photo editing, strongly preferred for this role. Bachelor's degree in Film, Photography, Media Production, or a related field. Prior experience in a church, ministry, or live-event production environment. Impact Church is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
