Job Description

Position Summary The Media Specialist is responsible for coordinating the production, circulation, and maintenance of instructional equipment and media systems, as well as providing technical support and training to faculty, students, and staff on the operation of classroom systems and associated equipment. Primary Duties Performed Schedules and circulates instructional materials and equipment, maintaining patron records and arranging for inter-campus loans Provides equipment set-ups including computers, multimedia, LCD panels, speakers, microphones, and projectors, ensuring correct operation Assists faculty and students with the use of camcorders and other media equipment Performs routine or preventive maintenance on media equipment and conducts inventory Performs audio and video tape duplication, prepares media materials, and provides mounting and lamination services Maintains central library for films, videotape, and digital media, including inspection and editing systems Maintains appropriate files to support various functions and compiles statistics Additional duties as assigned Qualifications/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of related full-time experience Working Conditions Generally works in an office environment
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time Regularly required to bend, stoop, and kneel to set up equipment, perform maintenance, and retrieve materials Regularly required to use manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools for equipment setup and maintenance Regularly required to use vision to inspect, edit, and maintain media materials and operate audiovisual equipment Occasionally required to climb ladders or use step stools to reach equipment or materials stored at various heights
