Job Description

Posted on July 24, 2026 KRGV TV Channel 5 News, the ABC Affiliate and #1 news station in the McAllen-Weslaco-Brownsville market, is looking for a dynamic News Videographer to join the largest news operation in South Texas. We are seeking a News Videographer to create visually engaging images for both on-air broadcast and social media. Candidates must have self-driven creativity and a passion for visual storytelling. They will use these skills alongside reporters to tell stories daily but photojournalists will, at times, conduct interviews independently. All duties must be performed in a timely manner in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. They must be detail-oriented, able to follow directions, and demonstrate the ability to perform duties and make independent decisions under extreme pressure. News Department employees will be required to work holidays and during severe weather situations, including hurricanes. KRGV-TV Videographers are assigned company vehicles. It is their responsibility to ensure the vehicles are well-maintained. They must be a safe driver with a clean driving record. This is a Full-Time position
DUTIES INCLUDE
? Recording video and interviews ? Editing video to script ? Conducting interviews ? Operating live transmission equipment (LiveU) ? Safe operation of company vehicle
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
? One year of experience in journalism, broadcast television, or other related fields ? Non-linear editing experience ? Required availability for flexible shifts, including but not limited to overnight, weekends, and late evenings ? Valid Texas Driver's license ? Ability to work in deadline-driven, fast-paced environments ? Ability to physically lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment ?
