Full Job Description General Description:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Gaming Commission. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the commission's policies and applicable laws, NIGC (MICs), Tribal Gaming Ordinance, IGRA and State Gaming Compact. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or G.E.D is required. A college degree of any kind is preferred. Four years related experience working on boards or commissions, working in higher administration in tribal organizations, businesses, casinos, or gaming commissions, or the like is required. Current NM Driver's License required. Must be able to pass an in-depth background check and pre-employment drug test. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common research and data, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond in writing to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to the Tribal Administration, Tribal Council, Enterprise Board, or other public groups. Ability to apply basic accounting concepts. Must be proficient in report writing. Able to generate reports using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other Software deemed essential to the creation of reports. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
