  • $120,000 Depending on Experience 1st Shift | Direct Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong Tool & Die background to support the design, development, and release of tooling projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role will focus heavily on tooling and die design, manufacturing process development, CNC-related tooling support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing dies, tooling, fixtures, molds, and manufacturing components while collaborating closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure tooling performance, manufacturability, and process efficiency. Key Responsibilities Design tooling, dies, fixtures, molds, jigs, and related manufacturing components for production environments. Develop tooling concepts and manufacturing processes for new customer projects. Determine die stages, forming sequences, tooling requirements, and production methods based on customer specifications and manufacturing capabilities. Create and modify detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and tooling documentation using SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, or similar software. Support reverse engineering and redesign of existing tooling and die components. Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and improve operational efficiency. Support tooling tryouts, setup validations, and process releases for production readiness. Generate BOMs, tooling estimates, process documentation, and engineering records. Review blueprints, GD&T requirements, and customer engineering changes. Coordinate with outside vendors regarding tooling builds, modifications, and outsourced tooling projects. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling performance, quality, and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with company safety standards and manufacturing procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred OR equivalent Tool & Die / Manufacturing experience. Minimum 5+ years of Tool & Die Design Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong experience designing progressive dies, tooling, fixtures, molds, and precision manufacturing components. Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics, AutoCAD, or similar CAD/CAM software. Strong understanding of machining processes, CNC manufacturing, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and tooling methods. Experience supporting tooling process development and manufacturing optimization. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Experience collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
