Job Description

Basic Qualifications :
The Designated Manager position requires a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Health and Human services or related field with a minimum of five years experience in the residential or foster home settings; however, a Masters degree in related field with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in the residential or foster home settings is preferred.
Other Qualifications :
The position requires clear understanding of how to meet the needs of clients in the residential care settings especially clients with mental illness. The individual must be a self-starter, critical thinker and must have the ability to make quick decisions. The position requires demonstration of strong analytical, problem solving, communication, organization, and leadership skills. Computer proficiency and supervisory experience is highly required for this position.
Job Description:
The Designated Manager works within the Operations unit to manage the activities of the group home aspect of the company. The Designated Manager works with the strategy development team to analyze the activities of the group homes and make appropriate changes. The Designated Manager also works with other people in the company to develop a sustainable system for the group home. The Designated Manager supervises the Designated Coordinators and develops the process to provide quality care to the clients.
Overview of responsibilities will include:
  • Budgeting and financial planning
  • Operations planning and management
  • Licensing
  • Development and administration of training programs
  • Coordination of the program
  • Hiring and supervision of Designated Coordinators
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1
) Medical a. Ensuring all tasks regarding medication supervision and administration are completed in a timely and accurate manner. b. Ordering medication sheets when needed. c. Verifying that all consumer medical appointment documentation has been completed and filed by Designated Coordinators. d. Completing all psychotropic medication forms as dictated by the regulations. e. Verifying that all medical information on consumers has been updated as needed. 2) Supervision of Staff a. Monitoring and approving all requests for time off and communicating these requests to Human Resources Dept. b. Program resolution with staff regarding performance issues. Providing prompt feedback regarding any concerns and/or positive job performances. c. Providing timely performance reviews for all Designated Coordinators and Alpha Administrative Assistant. 3) Program a. Completing all teaming reports as directed by individual teams in a timely manner. b. Writing and monitoring all programs and behavioral support plans for consumers. c. Monitoring and writing Rule 40 programs when needed. d. Monitoring all consumer progress notes and documentation forms. e. Monitoring all incident report forms and forwarding to appropriate team members as required. f. Monitoring all correspondence in regards to the consumers and homes to ensure prompt response when needed. 4) Communication a. Communicating regularly with case managers, day programs, guardians, family members, etc. to ensure continuity of care for consumers. b. Monitoring communication with staff and consumers to ensure continuity of care and daily living programming. c. Addressing any concerns brought to attention of the Designated Manager in a timely manner with the appropriate sources. d. Communicating any concerns brought to his/her attention to Chief Executive Officer in a timely manner. e. Responding to all requests in appropriate manner and in a timely manner. f. Meeting with the Designated Coordinators on a regular basis to communicate pertinent information. 5) Physical Environment/Vehicle Maintenance a. Inspecting group homes on a monthly basis (at minimum) to ensure a safe and pleasantly attractive appearance in the homes. b. Ensuring all maintenance is completed in a timely manner. c. Communicating any safety and/or physical concerns to the Chief Executive Officer in a timely manner and ensuring these requests are addressed in a timely manner. d. Ensuring all external upkeep is completed in a timely manner. This includes insuring walkways are kept clear and clean of debris, snow, and ice. e. Ensuring that scheduled vehicle maintenance on all Alpha vehicles is carried out appropriately. Reviews vehicle maintenance log regularly. f. Ensuring all license tabs & handicap stickers are current on all vehicles. 6) Licensing a. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of licensing requirements for foster care licensing and waiver licensing. b. Maintaining the standards of licensing requirements in the homes and programs and ensuring compliance in all areas. c. Scheduling and coordinating all licensing activity for each home and consumer, as required.
