Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietary Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the dietary department by conducting patient assessments, implementing dietary plans, and ensuring the nutritional needs of patients are met in various care settings, including acute care and long-term care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of dietetics and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. Duties Conduct diagnostic evaluations and patient assessments to determine dietary needs. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized dietary plans. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of dietary interventions, adjusting as necessary. Provide guidance on tube feeding protocols and ensure proper administration. Assist in supervising dietary staff and coordinating activities within the dietary department. Engage in health coaching to educate patients about nutrition and lifestyle choices. Maintain accurate records of patient dietary intake and preferences. Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards within the dietary department. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in acute care or long-term care environments, is preferred. Familiarity with dietary systems and protocols related to patient nutrition is essential. Experience in supervising staff or leading teams within a dietary context is a plus. Knowledge of health coaching techniques and effective communication skills to educate patients on nutrition. A background in dietetics or related fields will be advantageous for this role.
