Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful and personalized care in a supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare teams Administer medication safely following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to sanitation standards Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury Document care activities accurately in accordance with care plans and regulatory requirements Provide compassionate Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care tailored to each individual's needs Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans Skills Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring Certification in CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia-related conditions Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude essential for providing high-quality patient care Experience in medication administration and understanding of nursing home or hospice care protocols Join us as a DSP to make a meaningful difference in people's lives!
