Position Summary The Director of Behavioral Health provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for all Behavioral Health services across the organization. This role oversees all inpatient behavioral health programs and is responsible for developing and launching a comprehensive outpatient service line. The Director ensures high‑quality patient care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and a collaborative, mission‑driven culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy Provide visionary leadership for all Behavioral Health inpatient units and emerging outpatient programs. Lead, mentor, and develop the Behavioral Health leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence. Drive strategic planning, service line growth, and program development aligned with organizational goals. Operational Oversight Oversee daily operations of inpatient Behavioral Health services, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient‑centered care. Build and operationalize outpatient Behavioral Health services, including staffing models, workflows, and clinical programming. Ensure optimal staffing, resource allocation, and operational performance across all BH programs. Financial & Census Management Responsible for census growth, patient throughput, and capacity optimization. Manage, and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible stewardship of resources. Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and licensing standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, state requirements). Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on clinical outcomes, patient safety, and service excellence. Maintain and enforce evidence‑based clinical standards and best practices. Collaboration & Partnerships Work closely with medical staff, nursing, social work, and administrative leaders to ensure integrated, multidisciplinary care. Build strong relationships with community partners, referral sources, and external agencies to support service line growth. Serve as a key liaison for Behavioral Health across the organization. Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. Independent clinical licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, RN, PsyD/PhD) preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Behavioral Health settings. Demonstrated success in inpatient operations, program development, and team leadership. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, clinical quality standards, and behavioral health best practices. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills.Pay:
