The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall direction and coordination of our nursing department and services to ensure the highest level of quality care. Mentor and motivate staff while working collaboratively with doctors, family members, nursing staff and other facility team members.
Job Requirements:
Must possess a FL state Registered Nurse license. Five+ years experience working as part of interdisciplinary management team in a skilled nursing facility. Knowledge of MDS/PPS is a key requirement. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Make hiring decisions, provide nursing in-services to staff members, and perform employee terminations of employees within the nursing department. Staff Development, mentor and teach nursing staff and other team members to ensure the continuous delivery of quality care to our residents. Ensure proper nursing coverage is provided; oversee nursing staff work hours and responsibly control nursing overtime costs. Computer literacy with programs and electronic records normally used in a healthcare environment Proven success with positive survey results and experience with survey prep, hurricane preparedness, gov't reporting guidelines, deadlines. Familiarity with all regulatory requirements that govern nursing homes. Perform other duties as assigned or as directed. This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
