Job description Director of Operations - Texalume Texalume is seeking a highly capable and proactive Director of Operations to lead and oversee all manufacturing and shop operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end execution of Texalume's aluminum fabrication activities, including canopies, storefront systems, and related architectural metal products. The Director of Operations will have full operational responsibility for the shop and will ensure that production is efficient, high-quality, and aligned with company growth objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in metal fabrication, CNC machinery and programming, welding processes, and shop workflow, combined with proven leadership and operational management skills. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual who can both manage day-to-day operations and implement systems, processes, and controls that allow the business to scale. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all shop and manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Oversee production planning, scheduling, and workflow to meet project timelines and delivery commitments. Manage procurement activities, including material ordering, vendor coordination, and inventory control. Supervise and develop shop personnel, fostering accountability, productivity, and a strong safety culture. Oversee CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, and welding operations, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and optimization. Coordinate purchase orders, job costing inputs, and invoicing support in collaboration with the finance and administration team. Implement and improve operational systems, standard operating procedures, and quality control processes. Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and capacity expansion. Support company leadership in scaling production capabilities and meeting long-term strategic goals. Qualifications Strong background in aluminum fabrication, metalworking, and shop operations. Hands-on experience with CNC machinery, programming, and fabrication workflows. Solid understanding of welding processes and quality standards. Solid AutoCAD experience Proven experience managing teams in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of operational outcomes.
