Job Description

Ave Maria Arts & Innovation Circle is a faith-centered educational enrichment organization serving homeschooling and alternative education families in the San Antonio area. We provide inclusive educational support and enrichment experiences that integrate academics, creativity, movement, sensory exploration, social development, and hands-on learning in a welcoming, family-centered environment. We support both typical learners and students with varying developmental, behavioral, communication, and learning needs.

This program is an educational enrichment and academic support program and is not operated as a licensed preschool or childcare center. Ave Maria Arts & Innovation Circle provides supplemental educational enrichment services for homeschooling and alternative education families. Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support our early childhood and elementary educational enrichment programs. The candidate will lead and assist with: Morning Program (Ages 3-5) Play-based early childhood school readiness activities focused on: communication social development sensory exploration structured routines early literacy and pre-math readiness movement and hands-on learning Afternoon Program (Ages 6-7) Small-group academic support focused on: foundational reading writing early math skills attention and participation executive functioning support emotional regulation and social development This role combines educational support with RBT-related strategies within a small-group enrichment environment. The RBT will work collaboratively with instructional staff and will receive professional oversight and guidance from both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a licensed Special Education Teacher. Responsibilities Early Childhood Program (Ages 3-5) Facilitate play-based learning and school readiness activities
Support:
circle time transitions social interaction communication development sensory exploration fine motor development attention and listening skills Lead hands-on activities including: music and movement arts and crafts imaginative play sensory activities early literacy and pre-math readiness exercises Elementary Program (Ages 6-7) Support small-group instruction in: reading writing foundational math Assist students with: task initiation attention and focus organization classroom participation emotional regulation peer interaction General Responsibilities Implement positive behavior support strategies under BCBA and Special Education teacher guidance Use visual supports, structured routines, and calming strategies Help maintain a calm, organized, and engaging educational environment Support inclusive participation for students with varying learning needs Collaborate professionally with staff and families Assist with classroom preparation and activity setup Collect basic observational or behavioral data as needed Preferred Qualifications Active RBT certification preferred Experience working with children ages 3-7 Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, speech delays, Down syndrome, dyslexia, or other learning differences preferred Knowledge of play-based learning and early childhood development Basic understanding of foundational literacy and math instruction Strong communication and teamwork skills Patient, nurturing, organized, and creative personality Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Requirements Must pass a background check Must complete fingerprinting requirements if applicable for TEFA/vendor compliance Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality CPR/First Aid certification preferred Must be authorized to work in the United States Clinical & Educational Oversight This position includes professional oversight and support from: a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for behavioral and support strategies a licensed Special Education Teacher for educational support, accommodations, instructional guidance, and classroom collaboration The RBT will work as part of a collaborative support team focused on helping students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally within an educational enrichment setting.
