Job Description

Director of Recruitment The Director of Recruitment will play a critical leadershiprole within the admission office, overseeing the development and management of Woodberry Forest School's "new to Woodberry" pipeline frominitial inquiry through enrollment. This individual will lead the school's efforts to build meaningful relationships with prospectivefamilies and key partners, while ensuring a thoughtful, personalized, and mission-aligned experience throughout the recruitment process. Working closely with the Assistant Headmaster for Enrollment and in partnership with divisional colleagues, the Director of Recruitmentwill serve as the primary architect of outreach strategy, visit programming, and yield efforts, with particular attention to strengtheningthe school's presence in key markets. Responsibilities will include pipeline strategy and management, feeder school and consultantrelationships, prospective family engagement, visit coordination, and yield strategy. The Director will also provide leadership to membersof the recruitment team and contribute to divisional planning and institutional initiatives that support enrollment. In addition tocore responsibilities, the Director of Recruitment will hold defined areas of leadership and contribute to broader institutional efforts insupport of enrollment and community engagement. Specific areas of focus include, but are not limited to: Ownership andmanagement of the new family pipeline from inquiry through enrollment, including helping set annual targets and longer-term goals inpartnership with the Assistant Headmaster, Sr. Director of Enrollment, and Associate Director of Enrollment Development andexecution of feeder school and educational consultant strategy, building and sustaining relationships with key partners Design andoversight of campus visits, overnight programs, and group events that support prospective family engagement and enrollment conversion Leadership of yield strategy for new families, coordinating efforts across the admission cycle to maximize enrollment outcomes Strategic focus on recruitment efforts in key markets, with attention to building a strong and sustainable pipeline of prospectivefamilies Direct supervision and professional development of recruitment team members Coordination with colleagues to alignrecruitment efforts across geographic regions and constituent groups Participation in divisional planning, budget conversations,and ongoing enrollment strategy discussions Leadership of recruitment-focused social media content and collaboration on messagingacross prospective family touchpoints Partnership with the enrollment team and communications office to ensure alignment betweenrecruitment efforts and broader institutional messaging The scope of the role will evolve over time in alignment withinstitutional priorities and the strengths and interests of the individual. Woodberry Forest School is one of the nation's premierindependent boarding schools for boys. Located on 1,200 beautiful acres in Madison County, Virginia, near Charlottesville and Washington,DC, Woodberry is an all-residential school. Woodberry enrolls approximately 400 students from the United States and abroad. Since itsfounding in 1889, Woodberry Forest has become recognized internationally as a leader in the education of boys.
