  • Full-time About the Role TransTech is looking for a high-impact Director of Student Experience to lead our Student Experience Manager team across all training locations.
You'll own the student journey from enrollment through graduation — ensuring every site delivers a consistent, compliant, and student-first experience. This is a senior operational leadership role with significant travel, direct people management, and executive visibility. What You'll Do People Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of 9-10 Student Experience Managers across all TransTech training sites Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews to drive individual and team growth Hire, onboard, and ramp new SEMs as the company scales; build a clear career path for high performers Step in directly during peak volume, vacancies, or escalations to keep operations running smoothly Operations & Compliance Own the SEM playbook: orientation, enrollment, student communication, document collection, drug screens, permit submissions, exit interviews, and graduation certifications Set and enforce service-level expectations for student touchpoints — response times, follow-up cadence, escalation paths Audit student files, drug screen results, permit submissions, and exit data on a recurring basis across every location Lead remediation when audit gaps are found and implement lasting fixes so issues don't repeat Partnerships & Reporting Partner with Regional Managers across TT West, TT East, and CDS on site-level needs, escalations, and process consistency Coordinate with NC Works, workforce agencies, and funding partners on vouchers, billing, and reporting Collaborate with Finance on tuition, vouchers, partner payments, and student account reconciliation Report student experience KPIs, audit results, and operational metrics to executive leadership regularly Identify systemic issues across the SEM function and drive continuous improvement in systems, tools, and workflows What We're Looking For Required 5+ years in operations, office management, or customer/student experience leadership 2+ years managing direct reports with proven ability to develop and hold people accountable Multi-site operations experience strongly preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (85% travel required) High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred Skills & Competencies Strong leadership presence — you set vision, build teams, and drive results through others Exceptional communicator across students, partners, vendors, and all levels of staff Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and learning management systems Comfortable operating independently and exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations Committed to serving diverse student populations with professionalism and cultural competency
