Job Description
•At the moment we are mainly looking for employees in Concord NC.• Job Summary If you love animals, would enjoy giving pet parents peace of mind while they're at work or away on vacation, and are looking for a job that allows you to spend lots of time playing and walking with animals, we'd love to hear from you! We are looking for a new part time staff member to join our team. Your position would include mid-day dog walks Monday-Friday, occasional AM and PM visits for vacation pet sits, as well as occasional overnight pet sits. The job will likely give you around 4 dog walks a day or so in the end (we train employees for one client at a time, so you'll gradually be given more dogs to walk as you are trained). You'll also have additional pet sits from time to time for vacation visits and live-in care. What the Job Involves Below we've written a bit more information about each part of the job (this is for one job combining each of these parts, not three separate jobs).•Mid-day dog walks will be Monday-Friday anytime between 10am-3pm. Each drop-in dog walk visit is typically a 30 minute visit, with the majority of your time being spent walking the dog(s). You'll also provide the dog(s) with fresh water, food if asked to feed them, treats, picking up their poop if needed, cleaning up any accidents if needed, and giving them lots of love and cuddles. Walks will typically be for 1-2 dogs at a time. During the visit you'll need to take photos of the dog(s) with your phone and at the end of the visit you'll need to write a short update of how the visit went and attach photos for the client.•AM and PM visits can start as early as 7am and end as late as 10pm. It's typically a 30 minute visit where you'll be providing (as needed) feeding, walking, litter box scooping, plant watering, mail pickup, water refilling, oral medication administration, accident clean up, picking up their poop, playtime, cuddles, and tidying up. During the visit you'll need to take photos of the pet(s) with your phone and at the end of the visit you'll need to write a short update of how the visit went and attach photos for the client.•For overnight pet sits you would be spending the night sleeping in a client's home. It could just be for one night, or possibly go for as long as a couple weeks. It would involve (as needed) feeding, walking, litter box scooping, picking up poop, accident clean up, oral medication administration, plant watering, mail pickup, water refilling, playtime, cuddles, and tidying up. Depending on the client, you may have your own bed to sleep in by yourself, or you may be asked to allow the pet to sleep in the bed with you if that's what they're accustomed to. You would spend all night and the majority of your day with the pet for the duration of the overnight sit (but you still can leave to do other pet sits or do your own personal errands etc as long as you don't leave the pet for more than a few hours at a time). During the visit you'll need to take photos of the pet(s) with your phone and different times throughout the visit you'll need to write a short update of how the visit is going and attach photos for the client. Requirements You love both cats and dogs and are very comfortable around them. You have a car. You have cared for pets for at least 1 year (or comparable experience). You have availability for mid-day dog walks, AM and PM visits various days, overnight pet sits occasionally, and work on weekends as needed. You live in our service area (we serve Harrisburg, Concord, Kannapolis, Mint Hill, East Charlotte, and the University Area). You are able to follow written and verbal instructions. You are able to respect client's privacy (not going into rooms/looking into drawers etc that you don't have a reason to be in). You are able to provide good quality, consistent, reliable, trustworthy care for pets without being checked on by a manager all the time. You are able to weekly hand wash the harnesses and leashes you'll be provided with for your dog walks, as well as daily charge the GPS trackers you'll be given. (You'll be compensated each week for washing the harnesses and leashes). You care well for our company harnesses and leashes, as well as keep client keys in your care in a safe place. You are neat and tidy in client homes. You never bring your own pet(s) or other people into client homes. You are willing to take off your shoes in client homes (as long as it is safe to do so). We will provide you with comfortable shoes to work in that are easy to take off and put on. You are available to pet sit over at least 3 of the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, or Easter)— this doesn't mean you won't have time off during the day to celebrate on your own, pet sits typically still give you time to do your own thing in between caring for animals. You can pass a background check. You have a phone you are able to take photos with and download the company app to write updates for clients. You are able to write updates for clients at the end of each pet sit visit (or various times throughout live-in visits). You are comfortable with the company app having your GPS location while you are checking into and leaving pet sit visits. You feel comfortable walking both big and small dogs. You are able to safely lift 50 pounds and walk briskly for 30 minutes if needed. You feel confident you can work for us at least through September 2026 (we understand things happen and you can't predict the future, but we'd like you to be reasonably sure you can stay with us at least until then so the pets and clients can build a relationship with you). You understand that the job is being outside a lot, and you are ok with being out even if it's rainy, snowy, cold, hot, etc (as long as it's safe to do so— we want to protect both you and the pets.) You are able to participate in company training, come to Meet and Greets as needed, and attend events as needed. You are able to agree to not pet sitting or dog walking on the side and only doing so through us (you'll be compensated for any new clients you bring us— more details below!) Compensation You will be paid $15 per half hour drop-in visit, $22.50 per 45 minute drop-in visit, and $30 per hour drop-in visit. Most drop-in visits (this includes mid-day walks as well as AM and PM pet sit visits) will be half hour visits. For overnight pet sits where you are spending the night at the client's house with the pet, you'll be paid $125 per 24 hours. With our referral program, you'll be given $50 for each new client you bring us once they've paid for their first visit (and they'll receive a $50 credit in their account to apply to future visits). You'll also receive 100% of tips, be provided with needed items for the job (such as shoes that are easy to slip on and off), and continued education. There will be the opportunity for raises and growing in the company for motivated and dedicated staff the longer you stay with us.
