Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator

Town of North Brookfield Highway Department Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator The Town of North Brookfield Highway Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator. This position performs a variety of skilled and manual labor duties related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal roads, drainage systems, public grounds, and other Town infrastructure. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, plows, sanders, and other municipal equipment Perform road maintenance, snow and ice removal, drainage work, grading, paving, and material hauling Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance Assist with emergency response and other Highway Department operations as needed Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines Maintain accurate records related to vehicle and equipment use Qualifications Valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required Hoisting and hydraulic licenses preferred Experience operating heavy equipment in municipal, construction, or highway settings preferred Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond to emergencies, including snow and ice operations The Town of North Brookfield is seeking dependable, motivated individuals committed to public service and maintaining the safety and infrastructure of our community.

Pay:

$20.00 - $32.54 per hour
