The instructor prepares students for entry-level employment as Surgical Technologists by delivering curriculum aligned with industry standards, facilitating hands-on skills training, evaluating student performance, and supervising clinical experiences. The instructor promotes student success while ensuring compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and school requirements. - Have a minimum total of five (5) years of experience, either in the operating room ST scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
- Possess an Associate's Degree or higher degree.
- Possess proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning Credentials, Licenses & Certifications
- Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on certifying Agencies (NCCA). Ex. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA).
- Hold a relevant California Teaching Credential or qualify for a CTE credential (high school diploma and three years of relevant industry work experience in the last 10 years with one year in the past three years.
One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.) Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (3-5 LETTERS
