An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Job Description

Homebound Instructor
EMPLOYMENT DATES
Immediately-Duration Based on
Need HOURS:
3:15-4:15 p.m., Monday-Friday
RATE OF PAY
$30 Per Hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide one-on-one instructional support for a student receiving homebound services by assisting with the completion of assigned schoolwork. Instruction will occur at an approved public location in Alexandria.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Indiana teaching license required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet individually with the student to support completion of class work. Plan and prepare for instructional sessions. Communicate regularly with family regarding student progress. Provide progress updates to the Director of Exceptional Learners. Follow the student's IEP. Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
