Overview The Part-Time CNA Instructor will provide classroom instruction for adult learners enrolled in the

BRCP CNA

program. The instructor will deliver instruction consistent with the Indiana Department of Health's approved Nurse Aide Training Program requirements and curriculum, while utilizing effective adult education practices appropriate for a diverse population of adult learners. Classes will generally meet 1-2 times per week at the Blue River Career Programs facility in Shelbyville, Indiana . The exact instructional schedule will be determined based on program needs and instructor availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong nursing or healthcare background, excellent communication skills, a passion for working with adult learners, and the ability to make complex healthcare concepts understandable and relevant. Duties Provide engaging, organized, and effective classroom instruction for students enrolled in the CNA program. Teach content consistent with the Indiana Department of Health Nurse Aide Training Program curriculum and requirements . Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials for assigned classroom sessions. Present CNA-related concepts including, as applicable: Resident rights and independence Communication and interpersonal skills Infection prevention and control Safety and emergency procedures Basic nursing skills Personal care skills Vital signs and measurements Nutrition and hydration Elimination Mobility and restorative care Mental health and social needs Dementia and related conditions End-of-life care Documentation and professional responsibilities Other topics required by the Indiana Nurse Aide Training curriculum Connect classroom instruction to real-world healthcare and long-term-care settings. Use a variety of instructional strategies appropriate for adult learners with differing educational backgrounds and learning needs. Provide clear demonstrations, explanations, examples, and opportunities for students to ask questions and practice concepts. Monitor student understanding and provide timely feedback. Administer quizzes, tests, assignments, and other assessments as required by the program. Maintain accurate instructional and student records in accordance with program requirements. Document instructional dates, times, topics, and other information required by the program and applicable state regulations. Communicate regularly with the Adult Education program staff and CNA program leadership regarding student progress, attendance, instructional needs, and concerns. Maintain a professional, supportive, and respectful classroom environment. Encourage students to develop the professional behaviors, communication skills, work ethic, and responsibility expected in healthcare settings. Support student preparation for successful completion of the CNA program and applicable competency examinations. Follow all BRCP Adult Education policies and procedures as well as applicable Indiana Department of Workforce Development and Indiana Department of Health requirements. Participate in required orientation, training, professional development, and program meetings as applicable. Perform other related instructional duties as assigned. Requirements Because this position is part of an Indiana Adult Education program and supports a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program, applicants must meet applicable state requirements.

Minimum qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree, consistent with Indiana Department of Workforce Development Adult Education instructor requirements. Current, valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing , as applicable to the instructor role and Indiana Department of Health Nurse Aide Training Program requirements. Appropriate nursing/healthcare experience consistent with Indiana Department of Health requirements for Nurse Aide Training Program instructors. Completion of a qualifying adult education/teaching course or equivalent preparation , as required by applicable Indiana Nurse Aide Training Program standards, unless otherwise satisfied through an applicable teaching credential. Completion of, or willingness and ability to complete, the required Indiana Nurse Aide Training Program Train-the-Trainer (TTT) requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of CNA duties, resident care, long-term care, healthcare safety, infection control, and related nursing aide competencies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively teach and communicate with adult learners from diverse educational and professional backgrounds. Ability to use basic instructional technology, email, and computer applications. Ability to maintain accurate student and instructional records. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with program staff.

•Candidates must be able to maintain all licenses, certifications, and qualifications required to provide CNA instruction under applicable Indiana Department of Health and Adult Education requirements. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but may not be required for every applicant: Previous experience teaching CNA, nursing, healthcare, or other adult education courses. Previous experience working with adult learners. Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, or another healthcare setting. Previous experience with an Indiana-approved Nurse Aide Training Program. Previous completion of Indiana's Nurse Aide Training Program Train-the-Trainer course. Experience developing lesson plans, assessments, or other instructional materials. Familiarity with the Indiana Nurse Aide Training curriculum. Experience supporting students from varied educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Strong classroom management and presentation skills.

Pay:

$40.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 8.0 per week
