An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Job Description
Reports to the Assistant Director of Workforce Development Operations; Provides instruction as directed and uses effective teaching methods Measures student learning outcomes and progress Establishes academic goals and objectives for student success Monitors daily sign-in sheets and other required documentation Works with Program Coordinator/Manager on required reports Works with other Atlantic Cape departments to meet program objectives Attends staff meetings as assigned Related duties as assigned Minimum of 10 years as a table games dealer 5 years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role Strong oral and written communication skills Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office This is a part-time position working up to 26 hours per week. This position may require flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and duties at any Atlantic Cape location or at locations in Atlantic or Cape May Counties
