Job Title Educator, Area 4-H Youth Development Extension Essential Job Functions Identification and formation of work partnerships with relevant local organizations, agencies and institutions to deliver educational events and activities Works with producers and agricultural related associations to explore strategies for improving production and profitability based on environmentally sound recommendations Conducts on-farm demonstrations utilizing current research-based information emphasizing soil preparation and quality; production, harvesting and the marketing of alternative crops Maintains a working relationship with Extension Specialists and other Area Extension Educators to develop and implement project proposals in high priority areas Implementation of educational programs regarding farm management, including financial management, herd health, management and business analysis, risk management workshops, short courses, tours, demonstrations, and other appropriate teaching and delivery method Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to crops science, horticulture, soil science, entomology or plant pathology Minimum Experience Three (3) years related experience Licenses/Certifications N/A Knowledge Skills and Abilities Strong planning and organizational skills Strong teaching and presentation skills Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal Strong decision-making skills Attention to detail Ability to work with and value a wide range of personalities Ability to work independently Ability to travel to sites outside the office Ability to develop public-private community partnerships
