The Utah Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Archivist I to join our dedicated Vital Records Administration team. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in our records management efforts, where your work will directly support our mission of advocating for and serving all individuals and communities in Utah. Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:
Records management including: knowledge of retention schedules, coordination with partners including state archives; Performs descriptive cataloging, creates original cataloging systems; Acts as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way to manage records; Develops historical and policy manuals for office; Image records into systems; Quality assurance of records; Coordinate and facilitate meetings with internal and external partners as needed. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills; Excellent organization skills; Knowledge of archiving principles and duties; Knowledge of privacy rules; Self motivated, able to work independently, comfortable asking questions.
Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:
Knowledge of Utah specific privacy rules and retention schedules. Supplemental Information Effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to within 30 days of their start date. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
