An Art Professor teaches foundational art ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the art curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
The College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University seeks applicants to teach in-person undergraduate courses in Art + Design at the Oakland campus in Oakland, California for the upcoming Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Adjunct Faculty will hold office hours as appropriate.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree and at least two years of successful college teaching experience. Art, media arts and design candidates should have active careers with current exhibition, publication, or creative practice and course related experience. Candidates must have the ability to effectively engage Northeastern students at course relevant levels of study, whether beginning, intermediate or advanced.
