Salary Grade:
LECT Summary of Position Primary instructional duties include directing musical theatre productions, and applied voice and acting instruction. The position may also teach courses such as Introduction to Theatre, Special Topics in Theatre, and Singing Styles. Additional responsibilities include recruiting high-caliber students locally and regionally, cultivating productive partnerships with school and community theatre programs, and demonstrating a collaborative, collegial approach in working with faculty across departments to produce concerts and theatrical events that advance the University's mission. This faculty appointment is for one academic year (9-month). Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least an earned Master of Music, Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts, or a Doctorate with a specialization in musical theatre or voice; at least three years of experience in musical theatre.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocalist with professional performance experience in musical theatre. Extensive knowledge of musical theatre repertory and the professional theatre world. Knowledge of singing in various styles, including pop, rock, gospel, and jazz.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.
Light:
work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, requiring: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight or the materials is negligible. (The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.)
