Lead Art Teacher Qualifications:

Must be certified in Visual Art (PreK-12) and have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in the Stratford Public Schools Preference for a candidate who is trained as a TEAM mentor Coordinate the displays of student artwork at Town Hall and Board of Education Assist with the ongoing maintenance and replacement of art-specific equipment (light boxes, kilns, paper cutters, etc.) Assist with maintaining an inventory of resources for department Coordinate art displays in collaboration with the Town of Stratford, including the annual town-wide art display Assist with the facilitation of meetings, including planning agendas Assist with the creation and implementation of curriculum and assessments aligned to mastery-based learning Assist coordinator in scheduling itinerant staff Attend occasional out of district professional development and/or meetings Attend occasional evening events Assist with the continuous improvement of teaching and learning in the Art Department Assist with the induction of new teachers throughout their first year of employment Assist with the annual budget preparation of the Art Department Assist Supervisor of Fine Arts in the planning and implementation of district initiatives, professional learning, and PLCs
