Our kids' experience includes immersive digital rooms, interactive play areas, hands-on art activities, and a dedicated craft room. We are looking for someone with a strong background in children's art education , ideally a current or former school art teacher, who understands how to engage children of different ages while maintaining a safe, organized, welcoming, and professionally managed environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise the daily operation of MOSIDA's kids' areas, including the interactive play area, craft room, and related immersive experiences Welcome children and families and help them understand and enjoy the different activities Lead and support hands-on art and craft activities Encourage children to explore their creativity rather than simply follow instructions Help make art activities fun and approachable for children with different personalities, interests, and artistic abilities Develop and improve age-appropriate art activities, creative projects, and special programs Train museum associates on how to communicate and interact effectively with children Supervise associates assigned to the kids' area and provide clear daily direction Maintain an organized, clean, attractive, and well-supplied craft room Monitor art materials and supplies and maintain appropriate inventory Ensure activities and materials are appropriate for different age groups Maintain safety standards and respond calmly and professionally when issues arise Manage busy periods involving multiple children and families Communicate professionally and positively with parents and caregivers Observe how children use our exhibits and recommend improvements to make the experience more engaging Work with MOSIDA management and creative teams to continuously develop new children's experiences Ideal Background We are especially interested in candidates with experience such as: Current or former elementary, middle school, or high school art teacher Children's art instructor Art camp instructor or director Museum art educator Children's museum educator After-school art program instructor or coordinator Art studio instructor working extensively with children Qualifications Strong background in art education, fine arts, art instruction, or a related field Professional experience teaching or working directly with children Previous school art-teaching experience is highly preferred Strong understanding of how children learn, create, and interact Ability to engage children naturally and enthusiastically Comfortable working with children of different ages and personalities Strong classroom or group-management skills Mature, dependable, patient, and professional Highly organized with strong attention to detail Strong communication skills with both children and adults Able to remain calm and make good decisions in a busy environment Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred Comfortable working weekends and holidays as required by museum operations Who Will Succeed in This Role The right person for this position is more than someone who simply "likes working with kids." We are looking for an experienced art educator who understands children —someone who knows when to give instructions, when to encourage, when to help, and when to step back and let a child discover something on their own. At the same time, this is a supervisory position . The successful candidate must be mature, professional, organized, dependable, and capable of managing staff, activities, supplies, safety, and the overall guest experience. You should genuinely enjoy seeing children become excited about creating something themselves. About
