Da Dream Lab is getting ready for Hauntopia , one of our biggest special events of the year—and we're looking for creative, energetic people to join our team! Over the next few weeks, our team will be transforming Da Dream Lab into an interactive Halloween experience for kids and families. That means building installations, creating decorations and props, setting up interactive art and science experiences, transforming spaces, and then bringing the event to life. And when Hauntopia is over? You stay! We're hiring for our ongoing KidzArt & Club Scientific Hawaiʻi instructor team. Hauntopia is just one example of the special events, camps, workshops, parties, and creative experiences our instructors get to be part of throughout the year. If you're someone who loves kids, art, science, making things, decorating, performing, building experiences, or just getting REALLY into a theme , we want to meet you.

Right Now:

We're Building Hauntopia! For approximately 2-3 weeks, Instructors may help us: Create props, decorations, displays, and installation pieces Paint, craft, build, assemble, and transform spaces Help prepare hands-on Halloween art & science activities Set up and decorate Da Dream Lab Work during Hauntopia and interact with kids and families Help reset and maintain activities throughout the event Bring lots of energy, creativity, and Halloween spirit! You don't need to be a professional artist or builder. We're looking for people who aren't afraid to jump in, make things, learn, and work as a team. Hauntopia is only the beginning. New team members will also complete our paid instructor training and certification process to become KidzArt & Club Scientific instructors. Throughout the year, our instructors: Lead hands-on art, science, and STEAM classes Teach after-school programs at Windward Oʻahu schools Work school-break and summer camps Lead birthday parties and weekend workshops Help create and staff special events Work with kids primarily ages 3-12, plus some teen and adult programs Prep materials and reset classrooms — prep time is paid! Help turn some of our bigger ideas into actual experiences We provide the curriculum, supplies, training, and support. Who Are We? Da Dream Lab is the Kailua home of KidzArt & Club Scientific Hawaiʻi , part of international art and science enrichment programs. But our space is a little unusual. On any given week, we might be painting, making slime, building sculptures, doing chemistry experiments, teaching kids to cook, running a camp, hosting a birthday party, designing an installation, or turning our building into a completely different world for a special event. No professional teaching experience required. We happily train college students, recent high school graduates, artists, makers, creatives, camp counselors, tutors, coaches, babysitters, childcare staff, STEM enthusiasts, theater people, event people, and enthusiastic quick learners.

Applicants should have availability over the next several weeks to help us prepare for and operate Hauntopia. For the ongoing instructor position, we especially need school-year availability:

Monday, Thursday & Friday:

generally between 1:00-6:00

PM Weekends:

generally 9:45 AM-2:00 PM Some evenings, holidays, school breaks, and special events are also required. Applicants should be willing to work a minimum of 2-3 days per week. May-August availability is especially important. Summer shifts generally fall between 8:15 AM-3:30 PM , with some opportunities as early as 7:45 AM or as late as 5:30 PM. You don't need to work every day—we're looking for consistent availability within these windows. Pay & Perks $18.50-$22/hour Typically 10-20 hours/week , with opportunities for additional hours during camps and events.
